Dona Nobis Pacem
Brightons shores broke my spirit,
these bombs never used to fall that way.
The wars far from over,
this retreat marks a change of heart.
The gallows let me breathe again,
with the death of one comes the birth of another.
This noose chokes the words,
out of everything passed and done.
The cold dark waves crash down in relief,
I'll find comfort in the arms of a mistress new.
The snow has brought purity to my decisions,
found clarity for my mind.
This city lays shattered before me,
never knew it would burn till it bled.
The streets are lined with sinners and saints,
never confessed I'll never relate.
